Hello Excellers and welcome back for another #Excel #MacroMonday blog post in my Excel 2020 series. Today is a quick (ish) macro or VBA tip in response to a question I have been asked recently. A subscriber could not find or locate any Macros they had stored in their Personal Macro Workbook. Where had ALL that work gone?. Where were the missing macros?. They were freaking out. (Of Course!). Their Personal Macro Workbook was missing.
The Personal Macro Workbook was not showing up in the VB Editor. So, time to troubleshoot. So, they informed me that Excel had crashed recently so that probably had something to do with it right?. Right. The macros were probably disabled when this happened. So, here is the solution I shared with them to get their Personal Macro Workbook and all of those precious Excel macros back up and running again.
Enable your Personal Macro Workbook.
First, you need to go to or navigate to the Excel Options Tab. I am using Excel 2016.
File | Options | Add-Ins
Next, you need to see if the workbook has been disabled
Disabled Items | Go
The Personal.xlsb workbook is sitting there disabled. I will enable it to get those macros fired up again!
Problem Solved!. The missing macros are found. The panic is over.
