0:02
hi everyone my name is Barbara welcome
0:03
back to my YouTube channel today I've
0:06
got a really quick video for you cuz
0:08
it's a really quick activity we're going
0:10
to take data from a PDF and we're going
0:12
to use co-pilot to convert that data
0:15
into a table so we can get it into Excel
0:18
really quickly shouldn't take too long
0:20
it's really easy to do let's get started
0:23
so here's a really basic example of
0:25
something you might get from somebody
0:26
it's a pdf version um of a document
0:33
to put that into Excel to do some
0:36
analysis on it this is a really simple
0:37
example we've only got
0:40
three we've only got three columns but
0:42
I'm going to show you in cop pilot how
0:44
you can not only bring specific columns
0:47
in all of the columns in of your data
0:49
but also add a little bit of extra
0:51
detail in there which co-pilot will do
0:53
so the first thing is I always open up
0:56
my PDF or whatever I'm going to use uh
0:59
you can click ask co-pilot or you can
1:01
click on the icon here that might take a
1:04
few seconds to load up and it'll give
1:08
you a few suggestions just what you can
1:10
do but I want to go right down here and
1:12
it's saying ask me anything so I'm going
1:15
to ask it to using using this page this
1:21
PDF I'm going to ask it to create a
1:24
table for me and also add in a new
1:26
column with today's date and name it
1:29
date of x extract so I'll go ahead and
1:31
type that so I've said provide me with a
1:34
table to copy into Excel the table
1:36
should contain the customer ID the name
1:38
and the last order of columns and I also
1:40
want to add in a new column Nam date of
1:42
extract and it say insert today's date
1:44
in each row of the data so then what we
1:47
do is submit and it should go away and
1:50
let's see what it does for
1:58
us so this looks quite
2:12
away okay that looks like it's done what
2:16
we asked it to do it's given us our
2:17
columns and the date of extract which is
2:19
today's date I've got a few options here
2:22
I can copy it I can export it but what
2:24
I'm going to do is I'm just going to
2:28
take a copy like let's do that and I'll
2:30
go into Excel and hit paste and what we
2:36
have is exactly what we asked for pilot
2:39
to do we specified the three columns but
2:42
we also asked it to add in an extra
2:45
colum of data for us it's as easy as
2:48
that so that's how quick it is to use
2:51
co-pilot to extract data from a PDF and
2:55
even add some more data in Exel I hope
2:57
you enjoyed the video I hope you did
2:58

3:00

3:03
