Formula Friday – Quickly Switch From Cell Values To View Formulas – An Excel Shortcut

Happy Friday Excellers!.  Welcome to another #FormulaFriday #Excel blog post in my 2020 Excel series. I have a great tip for you.  It is really short, but it allows you to quickly toggle between looking at your Excel cell values and view formulas in those cells.

I use this on a regular basis, just to check the continuity of my formulas.

Switch From Cell Values To View Formulas.

It’s super easy all you need to do is hit CTRL+’ (The ‘Grave accent key is is below the escape key on the far upper left of a standard keyboard).

If you want to use the MENUS on Excel then it’s the following
  • Home Key
  • Formulas Tab
  • Show Formulas Tab

You can see in my example here I am showing the formulas rather than the results or values of the formulas.

All I need to do is hit the CTR+’ key to flip back to the cell values.   Then hit the same shortcut again to view formulas. Easy.  Have you used this before?.  Let me know in the comments below.  Happy Friday guys have a great weekend!.
