Hello, it is time for some more #formulafridayfun. Today I want to share with you how to highlight all cells containing a formula. It is a question a colleague asked me this week. It was a great question!. How can I see at a glance by changing the colours of the cells, my cells that contain formulas?. That would be a handy Excel tip, especially if you have a large worksheet and need to know at a glance.
I found a really easy way to achieve this with a few clicks. Follow the instructions below to highlight cells with formulas.
- Home Tab
- Editing ribbon
- Hit small arrow next to Find and Select
- Select GOTO – Special
- Select Formulas
- Hit Ok

- Format
- Select the colour you want your cells to be highlighted- in this example it’s yellow

If you want to use an Excel keyboard shortcut to access the GOTO Special dialog box then simply hit the F5 key. This brings you to the same dialog box.
All of your cells containing formulas will be highlighted. Why not give it a go. Prefer to watch a video tip?. Watch my YouTube video on how to highlight all cells that contains a formula below.
