Convert Temperatures Easily In Excel

So, I am used to talking about weather temperatures in Celsius, some of my friends would do this as well but depending where they are in the world they would talk about Fahrenheit. I talk about a weather quite a bit, well, if you lived in either England or Ireland you will relate to my some what obsession with checking the weather forecast.

What is that in the sky……oh weird….I think it’s called the sun……..

So back to converting temperatures with Excel. Funnily enough the function is called CONVERT. It basically converts one set of measurements to another, but I find it REALLY useful.

If you just go ahead and type =CONVERT into a cell in Excel or hit the function button at the left of the address bar then all you need to do is type the number you want to convert hit comma, then Excel will show you all of the measurements is is able to convert.

Example

Let’s convert 25 degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit

  • In cell D3 type =Convert

CONVERT1

  • Enter your opening bracket and type 25
  • Hit comma

CONVERT2

  • Scroll down the list of suggestions until you find “C”
  • Hit comma

CONVERT3

  • Scroll down the list of suggestions until you find “F”

CONVERT4

  • Enter your closing bracket
  • Hit return

CONVERT5

Easy as that, why not experiment and see what conversions are available…….
