It’s really easy to to turn ordinary text in your Excel spreadsheet to a hyperlink which is great if you want to insert links to other worksheets,  webpages or Office Documents from plain text.

All you need to do is

  • Select the cell that contains the text you want to turn into a hyperlink
  • Select Insert Tab Hyperlink- (Or Click CTRL+K)
  • The Insert Hyperlink Dialog Box Appears In the Address Bar
  • Type the target of the link
  •  In the Text To Display box the text you want to display, if the cell you selected in step 1 has text then it will be already filled in correctly as in my example below.

  • Click Screen Tip to supply  and alternative text when the pointer rests on  the link, if you do not want to select an alternative name then Excel will display the  target of the link.
