Excel Tip. Move Cursor Horizontally Entering Data.

Hello Excellers and welcome back to another #Excel tip in my 2019 series. Do you need to enter data quickly into your Excel workbook?. Well, this is a great little tip to enable easier data entry and less clicks. Do you need to enter data horizontally across columns rather than down rows in your Excel data sheet. Each time you need to press enter or return the cursor normally moves down one cell right?. Like in the screen cast below?.

So, here is a great way to easily enter your data, press enter and then move horizontally. Just follow the steps below.
  • Select the cells you want to enter data into. In my example it is the range of cells A2 to D2.
  • Go right ahead and enter your data into the cells one by one, hit enter after each entry as usual.

Now your data entry is complete.
