Ever inherited a monster of a spreadsheet?- silly questions we all have!, and more often than not one of the little issues with it is..those blasted blank cells.. that interrupt any data analysis we want to carry out.

There is a fabulous trick in Excel however to get rid once and for all these blank cells you have inherited.

  1. Select your data
  2. Press F5 ( to bring up your GOTO function)
  3. Check ‘Select’
  4. Select special
  5. Blanks
  6. Ok
  7. CTL and the minus sign (-)
  8. Select shift Cells Up or the entire row as needed.
  9. That’s it  well done you have successfully removed your annoying blanks

Now, we can get on with analysing data.

Give this a go, or let me know if you have a different way of doing this.
