Formatting Cells That Contain Text Only

Do you want your text always to be bold, or red or any other formatting automatically as you type. A great, quick way to do this is to set up Conditional Formatting that kicks in if the user enters text.

The easiest way to do this in Excel 2007 is

1. Select the range of cells you want included in the conditional formatting, it could be one sections of cells or the whole workbook. In my example below I have chosen to format the whole worksheet.

2. Home Tab

3. Conditional Formatting

4. New Rule

5. Use Formula To Determine Which Cells To Format

6. Type the formula =ISTEXT(A1)

7. Ok

1. Convert Text to its ‘PROPER’ case

2.Change the standard font Excel uses in your workbooks

3. Centre your titles across your worksheet

Go ahead and try it. Let me know what you think.

How much time has it saved you?
