Unstack Your Excel Data From Columns To Rows
34K views · Jan 27, 2022 howtoexcelatexcel.com
Today I will show you how to unstack data in Excel that looks like the sample data set below WITHOUT Formulas!. I have inherited an Excel worksheet that contains address data. Unfortunately, each address line stacked on top of another makes data analysis or use more difficult. The data set is a list of addresses with three lines, Street, Town and Code. The address lines are not in columns but rows. Not a problem. A few clicks can sort this out. So, follow the steps below to begin filling out the new data set. Today I will show you how to avoid using formulas to do this! We go back to one of the best tools in our Excel took kit, the Pivot Table. So, the first step is to build the Table. 👉𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. https://howtoexcelatexcel.com/download/show-value-and-percent-on-same-report/ 👉𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞. https://howtoexcelatexcel.com/formulas/show-value-and-percent-in-same-report-no-formulas/ 𝐀𝐝𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. Next, drag the GROSS Sales field to the Values area of the Pivot Table which does the hard work for us. Then add the Month field to the Rows area to easily calculate the Gross Sales per month. The requests for this data or report is to show not only the ACTUAL GROSS sales per month but the % SPLIT PER MONTH of TOTAL GROSS SALES. This is really easy with our Pivot Table solution. There are TWO ways to show the monthly percentage split. 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝 𝟏. *Right, Click on the data area where your gross sales are shown. *Select Value Field Settings. *Click the Show Value As Tab. *Select % of Column Total. This will change the monthly gross values to a percentage of the full years of gross sales. Showing just these sales as a percentage split. This is great information. 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐃 𝟐. 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭. If you want to display the ACTUAL GROSS sales AND the % split, then this second method is the one to use. *Drag the GROSS Sales field to the value are of the Pivot Table (AGAIN). *You now have both the % split and the actual sales value. *YES! Easy as that!.

Resize The Excel Formula Bar
5K views · Jul 23, 2021 howtoexcelatexcel.com
This Excel tips video will show you how to Resize The Excel Formula bar. In versions of Excel earlier than 2007, editing a cell that has a lengthy formula or a cell containing lots of text is not easy. It can often block part of your worksheet. In Excel 2007 onwards, it addressed in more recent versions with a resizable formula bar!!. If you are writing a long formula that is longer than the standard default size, you can resize the Excel formula bar in two ways. Method 1. Place the cursor at the bottom of the formula bar and see the twin-sided white arrow. You can drag the formula bar to make it larger or smaller using this arrow. Method 2. Click the arrow at the right side of the formula bar. Of course there is an Excel shortcut to do this. Its is CTRL+SHIFT+U. To restore the bar again just hit the shortcut again. Why not give this a go and practice resizing the bar.
